Summary

Argus Page Monitor runs entirely in your browser. Pages are fetched locally on your device — no browsing data is sent to our servers. We do not collect analytics, personal information, or browsing history.

Data Collection

This extension does not collect:

• Browsing history or page content
• Personal information
• Analytics or usage data
• Cookies or tracking identifiers

Permissions

The extension requests the following permissions, used solely for core functionality:

• alarms — to schedule periodic page checks at your configured interval
• storage — to save monitor settings, snapshots, and change history locally on your device
• notifications — to display browser notifications when a monitored page changes
• scripting — to inject the element picker for selecting specific page elements to monitor
• activeTab — to access the current tab when adding a new monitor or using the element picker
• host_permissions (<all_urls>) — to fetch any web page for change detection. Pages are fetched locally in the background — no data is sent to external servers except as described below.

Notification Services

When you configure external notification channels, Argus sends a brief notification message (page name and change summary) to the service you choose:

• ntfy.sh — message is sent to your chosen topic on ntfy.sh (or a self-hosted ntfy server)
• Discord — message is sent to your provided Discord webhook URL
• Custom webhooks — message is sent to any URL you configure

No data is sent to these services unless you explicitly enable and configure them. Only the page name, URL, and a short change summary are transmitted — never the full page content.

Payment Processing

Pro plan payments are processed by ExtensionPay and Stripe. Payment information is handled entirely by these third-party services and is never accessible to this extension.

Third-Party Services

The extension communicates with extensionpay.com solely to verify Pro plan subscription status. No browsing data or page content is sent.

Data Storage

All data (monitor settings, page snapshots, change history) is stored locally on your device using chrome.storage.local. No data is synced to external servers — we have no servers.

If this policy changes, the updated version will be posted here with a new date.
