Local Tab Manager

Getting Started

1. Install Silo from the Chrome Web Store
2. Click the Silo icon in your toolbar
3. Click “+ New Collection” to save your tabs
4. Choose “All tabs in window” or “Current tab only”
5. Give your collection a name, pick a color, and click Save
6. To restore, expand a collection and click “Open All”

Managing Collections

• Color labels: 8 colors to categorize your collections
• Search: Type in the search bar to filter by collection name, tab title, or URL
• Reorder: Use ▲▼ buttons or drag & drop to rearrange collections
• Rename: Hover over a collection and click the pencil icon
• Delete: Hover over a collection and click the trash icon (confirmation required)
• Add current tab: Click the + button on any collection row to add the page you’re viewing

Working with Tabs

• Open a single tab: Click any tab title to open it in a new tab
• Remove a tab: Hover over a tab and click ✕
• Duplicate detection: Adding a tab that already exists in a collection will show a warning

Export & Import

• Export: Click “Export JSON” to download all your collections as a JSON file
• Import: Click “Import JSON” to load collections from a previously exported file
• Importing adds to your existing data — it does not overwrite
• Use this to transfer collections between computers or as a manual backup

Pro Features ($9 one-time)

• Unlimited collections: Free plan allows 5, Pro removes the limit
• Tab group sync: “Open All” creates a Chrome tab group with your collection’s name and color
• Keyboard shortcut: Ctrl+Shift+S to save all tabs, Ctrl+Shift+Q to save current tab. Customize at chrome://extensions/shortcuts
• Auto backup: Toggle in the popup (Pro section) for automatic JSON backup every 24 hours

FAQ

Where is my data stored?

Everything is stored locally in your browser’s IndexedDB. No servers, no cloud, no account needed.

Can I sync across devices?

Silo is intentionally local-only. Use Export/Import to manually transfer collections.

What happens if I uninstall?

Your data will be deleted. Export your collections first as a backup.

How do I change the keyboard shortcut?

Go to chrome://extensions/shortcuts in your browser and find Silo.

How do I get Pro?

Click the “Upgrade — $9” button in the popup. It’s a one-time payment, no subscription.
